Many of our patients have dental insurance and want to know if they can use their dental plan at our office. The answer is yes. Our office will bill the insurance company on your behalf every time you come in for a visit. But you might be wondering why we do it a little differently than other dental offices.

Being in-network with insurance plans prohibits us from giving you the best dental care we can give. The reimbursement rates from insurance companies for in-network dentists are incredibly low. Some practices work around this problem by:

• seeing more patients in the same amount of time

• using cheaper materials

• limiting pay and benefits for staff 

Does this mean you will have to pay more out of pocket? Not necessarily. Insurance reimbursement rates for an out-of-network dentist are typically higher than the reimbursement to an in-network dentist.

At Stanford Family Dental, quality of care is our priority. Dr. Jamie prefers to select dental materials that, based on research, demonstrate the highest success rates, longevity, and esthetics. Also, it is important for us to be able to spend time communicating, informing, and building a relationship with each patient. The goal is to personalize our care for each individual. We hire well-qualified professionals, use the highest quality materials, and work with the top dental laboratories.

After making your payment in full when services are rendered, you will receive the reimbursement check from the insurance company directly to your home within two to four weeks. If you need assistance with anything that has to do with the claim, we are more than willing to help. If you have additional questions, feel free to ask us. • Cash, check, and all major credit cards

• Financing options

• Phased treatment plans (for large treatments)

• Health Saving Account or Flex Spending Account

Unfortunately, we cannot bill MediCare/MediCal dental insurance, also known as DentiCal.
